The Runnymede Hotel is situated close to the spot where on June 15th 1215 King John agreed to lay his seal on The Great Charter (Magna Carta), and on this site now stands the Magna Carta Memorial. The hotel is also close to Windsor, home to the Royal Family and Eton, home to the school that taught 18 British Prime Ministers, are just 20 minutes away. In the other direction, Hampton Court, home of Henry VIIIth, is just a 25 minute drive. More modern destinations, such as Legoland, Chessington World of Adventures, and Thorpe Park are also nearby.
