Larkfield Priory Hotel
London Road, Larkfield, Maidstone ME20 6HJ
Larkfield is an ancient hamlet part of which belonged to the Archbishop of Canterbury. The hotel was built in the mid-nineteenth century on a parcel of land known as Larkfield farm. It was the home of the Reverend William Lewis Wigan and his family, who remained there until 1933 after his death in 1876. It is believed that there is a ghost in the hotel, identified as Charlotte, a servant girl, and this has created much interest in the history of the locality. The Priory comprises 52 en-suite bedrooms and are air-conditioned double rooms, four-poster King bedded room and family rooms.
